Valentines Day, Brooks, and da Baze

In honor of Valentines Day, Jason Derulo sent 10,000 red roses to his girlfriend, Jordan Sparks. Upon hearing of this demonstration of love, Steve Nash made 10,000 free throws in honor of Jason Derulo. He made each free throw with his eyes closed.

With the addition of Kent Bazemore and MarShon Brooks, the Lakers now have the best dancing backcourt in the NBA (according to markmadsondance.com). And MArShon Brooks can't even dance.

Chris Kaman's and Jodie Meeks' musical group Ci-K and Jojo (a K-Ci and JoJo tribute band) announced that their album "Ball My Life" would drop on March 12th. It is currently the best selling album on itunes. Which marks the first time an album preorder has hit the number one spot since Kendall Marshall took this photo with Pau Gasol

Adidas recently began reselling their "Crazy 1" basketball shoe. Due to contract disputes, the athletic apparel company is not able to label them as "Kobe Retros." NASA had purchased all of the left over pairs in 2000 and after the announcement that the space exploration team does not have any plans to set foot on the lunar surface any time in the foreseeable future, they explained they no longer had any purpose for the shoes. Which allowed Adidas to buy them back at a discounted rate and begin selling the moon boots as basketball shoes again.

Congratulations to Jason Collins for becoming the first openly gay athlete in the major 4 professional sports in our country. It is notable that last night Staples Center also featured other ambassadors Jordan Farmer (first Jewish American to play in the NBA) and Steve Nash (the first basketball player to ever play basketball).

Latest facts and rumors (February 18th)

- As his first act as commissioner, Adam Silver is going to propose the 3 point line be renamed to "Jodie Meeks range"

- Adam Silver has also started a new program to encourage an older demographic to show interest in the NBA. He has asked Steve Nash to visit some elderly homes to get retirees excited about the game. However, the visits have not been well received and many of the residents complained they could not relate to Steve because he was too old.

- After seeing Kobe Bryant's new high top shoe from Nike and not being able to heal from multiple leg injuries this season, Jordan Farmer has reached out to the developers to see if they can create a shoe that laces all the way up to his groin. Explaining that he needs the extra leg support.

- Award winning director, Spike Lee has been rumored to be creating a sequel to his 1998 smash hit "He Got Game." Steve Nash has been spotted meeting with Lee and initial reports cite the working title of the movie as "He Had Game."

- Recently the NBA has been generating ideas to speed up the game. The list includes suggestions such as awarding Steve Blake 2 points instead of wasting time having him shoot free throws, and giving Jordan Hill credit for an offensive rebound and 2 points whenever another post player catches the ball in position to miss an 8 foot turn around from the other side of the key.

- The Hall of Fame has recently asked to display a ladder that belongs to Steve Nash. The ladder is special because Steve allowed his young friend, James Naismith, to borrow it when he hung up the first ever basketball hoop.
