In honor of Valentines Day, Jason Derulo sent 10,000 red roses to his girlfriend, Jordan Sparks. Upon hearing of this demonstration of love, Steve Nash made 10,000 free throws in honor of Jason Derulo. He made each free throw with his eyes closed.
With the addition of Kent Bazemore and MarShon Brooks, the Lakers now have the best dancing backcourt in the NBA (according to markmadsondance.com). And MArShon Brooks can't even dance.
Chris Kaman's and Jodie Meeks' musical group Ci-K and Jojo (a K-Ci and JoJo tribute band) announced that their album "Ball My Life" would drop on March 12th. It is currently the best selling album on itunes. Which marks the first time an album preorder has hit the number one spot since Kendall Marshall took this photo with Pau Gasol
Adidas recently began reselling their "Crazy 1" basketball shoe. Due to contract disputes, the athletic apparel company is not able to label them as "Kobe Retros." NASA had purchased all of the left over pairs in 2000 and after the announcement that the space exploration team does not have any plans to set foot on the lunar surface any time in the foreseeable future, they explained they no longer had any purpose for the shoes. Which allowed Adidas to buy them back at a discounted rate and begin selling the moon boots as basketball shoes again.
Congratulations to Jason Collins for becoming the first openly gay athlete in the major 4 professional sports in our country. It is notable that last night Staples Center also featured other ambassadors Jordan Farmer (first Jewish American to play in the NBA) and Steve Nash (the first basketball player to ever play basketball).
